2019 Interview Judging Schedule

 If you registered to enter a 4-H exhibit at the Pueblo County Fair, please find your name and interview time on the attached schedule.

 Interviews will be held on SUNDAY, JULY 21 starting at 9:30am. Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled interview time to allow time for checking in.

 In order to find your name, hit CTRL+F (Windows) or Command+F (Apple) and type in your first and last name. You can also look at the top of each column by project area. Interviews are scheduled for 15 minute intervals, except for Cloverbuds, which are ten-minute interviews.

 If you cannot attend the interview, you can have a friend or family member drop off your project and e-record for judging in the morning. The exhibit needs to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled interview time. Please call the office at 583.6566 and let us know that you cannot interview, and when you are scheduled.

 If you find a mistake on the interview schedule, please let us know ASAP so that we can get it corrected! Double check the spelling of your name, interview time(s), projects, and class numbers that you entered in FairEntry. Compare them to the class numbers and rules for accuracy: https://www.pueblocountyfair.com/2019-rules (Click on “General and Consumer Science Rules and Exhibit Requirements). No class changes can be made during the County Fair. Members in certain specific projects can change classes until July 5, and a separate email to those members will follow later today. Please see the rules at the link for details.

 Remember to bring your COMPLETED e-Record with your project! Be sure it is SIGNED by you, your parent/guardian, and your club leader, and that every section is filled out. Double check to be sure that you listed your 4-H demonstration and that you listed at least one 4-H community service project (hosted by a 4-H club/council/group/camp). Please dress nicely for your interview (no spaghetti straps, holes in your clothes, muscle shirts, short-shorts, etc.). A copy of the dress code can be found online at: http://co4h.colostate.edu/resources/ColoradoDressCode.pdf

The 4-H Chill Grill Concession Stand will be open from 9:00 AM until about 2:00 PM. Bring an appetite and help support 4-H by purchasing snacks/meals at the 4-H Chill Grill!

2019 Livestock Test and Mandatory Showcase Sale Information

Livestock Tests

Dining Hall

The Livestock tests will be held on Thursday, May 9, at 6:00 p.m. in the Dining Hall and Auditorium on the Colorado State Fairgrounds.

All livestock members (including market, dairy, breeding) must take and pass with a 60% score a livestock test in each species each year. So, for instance, if you are in the Dairy Goat project, Market Poultry project, and Breeding Poultry project, you will need to take three tests. Mandatory Meeting

This meeting is for members in MARKET (beef, goat, poultry, rabbit, sheep, swine) projects who intend to show/sell in the Showcase Sale at the County Fair in July. At this meeting, you will be given your buyer contact packet and other important information about the Sale. If you cannot make this meeting, you must notify the Showcase Sale committee via the Extension Office in writing no later than 24 hours prior to the meeting. You must also make arrangements to pick up your buyer contact packet.

 

Additionally please see this request from the Showcase Sale Committee:

This year the Showcase Sale committee would like to enhance the “Thank You” bags you give each buyer after you sell your livestock project at the showcase sale.  Instead of increasing the 6% commission that is deducted from the Showcase Sale Exhibitor checks we are instead asking that each market livestock 4-H/FFA member who is selling their market livestock project in the 2018 Showcase Sale to donate one of the following to be put in the “Thank You” bag.

 

*1 box of flavored tea (please make sure the tea bags are individually wrapped.  We are placing them in the mugs that we give)

                                Or

*1 bag of individually wrapped candy.  (Please no chocolate…it is July…they will melt J )

                                Or

*$5.00 cash–which will be used to buy tea/candy to be placed in bag

 

                We have many loyal community members, businesses and individuals who support YOUR livestock projects and hard work each year and the Showcase Sale committee is dedicated to making sure the buyers are shown genuine appreciation.  Please bring one of the above items to the MANDATORY Showcase Sale meeting on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 6:00 pm in the 4-H Auditorium.  We thank you for your cooperation and donation.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
